  The Twilight Zone...any fans?

  i am a huge fan of the twilight zone and i wondered if anyone on the board was a fan.

  since the strangeness of the whole series mirrors my own jw life in some ways i found several episodes strangely fascinating.

  interestingly my first experience watching it was in the reprised version of the series in the 80's and there was an episode where a shadowy figure lived under a kid's bed in return he would not hurt the owner until... and that's what i think made the series unique in how they added a twist that made every episode special, disturbing, or thought-provoking.

  We had a Twilight Zone Marathon a few weeks ago. I taped them all!

  I knew I wouldn't be able to watch them for 2 or 3 day straight so now I have 4 or 5 six hour tapes of Twilight Zone.

  I am looking forward to watching them when I get home from my daughters.

  To many to say I have a favorite. Way too many.

  Snoozy,,,We also have new ones now but they just aren't quite as good as the originals..

  I did like the old man with the dog "Shep"..an old country man . He apparently died and his dog Shep was with him. He was walking on a country road and met several gatekeepers . Each one tried to talk him into entering their gate.(So-called heaven) But each one didn't suit him. One was for dogs only..the next one didn't allow dogs..He wasn't about to be separated from his dog Shep. Then finally he found the perfect one for him and his dog..it was a tear jerker.

  I almost forgot "Kick the can"....ahhhhh to be young again..

  What funny "Saying" do you sometimes use?

  here in quebec, one funny expression people say is "donne a manger a un cochon, et il viendra chier sur ton perron" .

  word for word in english this would mean: feed a pig, and he will shit on your porch.

  in other words, sometimes you try to be nice to people, and they don't always try to be nice to you in return.. .

  this time i was calling for a sister that wanted to know the truth from the society.

  the brother from the information desk said they did join but realy they were tricked.

  How do I fix medical records with their finding out?

  after reading aude_sapere's story, i would like to delete "jehovah's witness" from my records at two hospitals.

  how can i be sure that a jw employee wouldn't find out and report to the elders?

  Medical records are confidential. You usually have to sign a release for someone to get that info. If they somehow get access to the files..you can sue-sue-sue.

  I heard something on the TV the other day about how they were stealing pin numbers and other information from ATM's. Did anyone else see that?..It was here in Missouri.

  They inserted some kind of electronic device in the atm slot where the card goes and was able to capture all the info on that person.

  When they tracked the numbers down they found out that terrorists were using the cards to purchase weapons, spy gear, electronics and anything else a terrorist needs.

  They finally discovered the mechanism in the ATM's and removed them.

  Nothing is safe anymore.

  Christopher Reeves widow battling lung cancer.

  Thanks for the article. I haven't been watching the news so I didn't know much about her.

  Another person I have been following is Tammy Faye Baker..She has been televising her cancer treatments. So sad...

  As many know my hubby too was a non-smoker..he was 62 when he died. Lung cancer. They tried treating the lung cancer and had shrunk the tumor with chemo but the liver just went crazy (It had spread to his liver)and that's what killed him.Horrible way to die.

  I hope Mrs. Reeves has good success with her treatments.

  i ran out of happy pills sunday.

  so monday i was feeling it.

  when cnn started discussing peter jennings, death from lung cancer.

  I'm so sorry to hear about Dana. Peter Jennings too. I knew about him but not Dana.

  Hubby never smoked and he died from lung cancer also. It wasn't the lung cancer that killed him really, the cancer spread to the liver before we knew he had it and you just can't fight the cancer in the liver .

  They gave hubby chemo for the lung tumor and it was shrinking it. So his pain was relieved somewhat. But the liver tumors grew fast and furious.It really depends on what type of cancer it is as too how effective treatment will be.

  I hope all goes well for Dana..she has been through a lot.

  I just read Estee's post in the Humor section titled..."I Found it!".. That will remind you of how it was...make you realize how wonderful it is to NOT be a JW. It is a letter she received from the "Brothers"when her Mother was disfellowshipped. Snoozy..

  i filed away the letter that i received from an elder when my mom was disfellowshipped years ago.

  it turned up the other day, reminding me again of the high control, fear based beliefs the dubs have.

  i resisted shunning my mom -- and sadly this letter is the reason i finally began shunning her.

  Whats funny is that I disassociated myself about that time. Never went back.

  Years later my JW MIL asked if it was ok to associate with me (At her hall) they said sure..even eating together with her and other JW's that stopped by her house when we were doing chores for her.

  Isn't being disassociated as bad as disfellowshipped? I think it is even worse..you publically say..I do not want to be known as a JW...

  What a bunch of hypocrites.
